Cavalier Carpets

The Flooring Group has been selling Cavalier Carpets to satisfied customers for many years. Cavalier Carpets provide information on their brand below;

Our founder began selling carpet to homeowners from a market stall, then began building a reputation as a leading british manufacturer in the early seventies.

Although todays tastes may be more sophisticated and choice seems to be endless, our commitment to providing the homemaker with the finest range of quality floorcoverings still stands.

Every one of our residential products goes through the same rigorous process of development and precise manufacture as a bespoke order, to ensure the customer receives the carpet they desire.

Nobody else can offer the same level of quality, choice and colour off the peg.

At Cavalier we like to think there is no such thing as a ‘plain carpet!

Wool has several unique features that makes it the perfect choice for carpet. What is so special about wool and what sets wool apart?

Fun wool facts

A sheep’s wool never stops growing; 1 years growth is about 4 kilos of wool and each kilo of wool makes up to 5 miles of yarn. Sheep live, on average for 10 years, so during a lifetime each sheep is responsible for the carpet required for an average living room.

Sheep were first domesticated around 10,000 years ago and man first learned how to spin wool about 3,500 bc. 5500 years later ‘Dolly’, was the first mammal to be cloned, scientists named her after singer Dolly Parton.

Wool is wrinkle resistant, fire resistant & a great insulater, it also has an incredible natural UV (Sunlight) Protection built in. The same cannot be said of manmade fabrics, how cool is that ?

In the 15th century, Spain’s thriving wool trade financed the expeditions of its conquistadors, including the voyage Christopher Columbus made to the New World, in fact he came from a family of wool traders.

Regular Vacuuming

Keeps your carpets looking their best. A good tip is to rake your carpet prior to using the vacuum cleaner. This will loosen dirt, pet hairs and raise the pile, making vacuuming more effective.

Stubborn Spills and Stains

Swift action to stop them spreading or penetrating the carpet fibres. Scrape solids with a spoon or palette knife, always work towards the centre of the spillage to prevent spreading the stain. Blot liquids with a clean white cloth or paper towel.

Periodic Cleaning by Professionals

Keep your carpets looking as good as the day you bought them. There are too many risks involved if you shampoo the carpet yourself or use unqualified carpet cleaning companies. For a guaranteed professional service that you can be sure of, call Renew on 0844 8717982.

Stain Removal Tips

Most stains that are allowed to dry overnight will become more difficult to remove. This also applies to hot beverages as they become heat set. So whenever possible always deal with any stains as soon as they happen. Cover gloss paint with cling film or polythene to prevent drying.

  • Blot any surface liquid, or in the case of other spills, remove as much of the spillage as possible.

We have achieved our principle objective of recycling 100% of our post industrial waste.

This has been possible by focusing on our supply chain and working with our partners to ensure all our materials are recyclable.

We have built a strategic alliance with our underfelt manufacturer which has enabled the creation of a cradle to cradle sustainability scheme, converting our waste into a new underlay that we purchase back for use in our Contract Division.

Other elements of our textile waste are recycled into the bedding industry or alternatively the equestrian sector. With our finishing dust being used by beef farmers in conjunction with natural cattle bedding for indoor husbandry prior to being recycled as fertilizer on the land.

This Eco Carpet System has been achieved in conjunction with the following partners:

  • Carbon Trust
  • Groundwork
  • FT UK

Other initiatives currently underway are life-cycle assessment which encourages a more environmental focus on how we operate.

This Cavalier initiative has been achieved against a background of general apathy within the carpet industry and as such demonstrates our commitment to sustainability.
