Design Seminars With Appeal
May Design Series at London ExCel (May 18-20) caters for retailers, contractors, architects and interior designers. Around 400 exhibitors are expected.
A highlight of the event will be the seminar programme featuring topics including contract, plus business, retail and customer service, covering latest trends, designs and ecommerce.
Tim Mutton, founder and ceo of Blacksheep design agency will talk on how to bring your brand to life. Serving the contract market, Craig Knight, director, IDR will ponder expensive design statements with insights into the spaces that work.
Andrew Budgen, director, Spacelab will discuss projects he has worked on with Virgin Money and Leo Burnett. Pippa Nissen, Nissen Richard Studio, will explain from the eyes of an architect and theatre designer the key to unlocking an amazing space.
Robert White, consultant on architecture business strategy, will give tips on winning and negotiating work.
Interior Architect of the Year Simon Jordan from Jump Studios will put forward ideas on how to bring a brand to life through interior design.
Among the exhibitors, Deirdre Dyson will present her 2014 bespoke carpet collection incorporating Chinese silk and pure wool.
Famed for its iconic stamp rugs, Rug-Maker.com will be showcasing a variety of designs including a collaborative range with textile artist and designer Ptolemy Mann, suitable as a statement piece in a commercial environment.
Flooring specialist Rainleaf will launch a collection of Signature long planks – 8m long and 450mm wide. This launch coincides with a recent project that Rainleaf has completed in Kensington, where the brand installed the longest engineered plank floor of all time in the UK, which extended to 450 mm wide, and was 8.5m long.
