Flooring Companies Help To Drive Green Agenda

Among the flooring exhibitors at Ecobuild this year are:
Interface (Stand S232) will demonstrate how careful consideration of the entire supply chain can have a positive impact on the environment as well as communities, by showcasing its latest innovations in sustainability.
Ramon Arratia, sustainability director at Interface, comments: ‘This year we have made significant strides towards our Mission Zero pledge, which is our vision to become totally sustainable, and ultimately restorative, by 2020.
‘Our latest innovations have made a positive difference, both environmentally and socially, on a global scale, and we are determined to help the environment and the world’s communities benefit further from our processes.
‘While we are totally committed to our support of the environment, we can’t do it alone, so at this year’s Ecobuild, we hope to share our latest successes in sustainability, and encourage others to do their bit for the planet, too.’

Mapei (Stand N920) will again demonstrate its commitment to the built environment with a new Green Street themed stand at Ecobuild. The interactive stand will showcase the company’s long-term, enduring commitment towards eco-sustainability, through manufacturing, certification and process compliance, including ISO 14001. The new, interactive stand will include live application demonstrations across all products lines, enabling visitors to gain insight into methods, as well as product features and benefits.
Each stop along the Green Street will also provide a static build-up of sustainable systems for construction, demonstrating how they have been used in building projects worldwide.
Mapei will also showcase a range of information focusing on corporate philosophy and eco-friendly products, including external wall insulation, ceramic tiling, waterproofing, resilient and wood flooring, and wall coatings.
It will also present specialist product, Mapei Re-Con Zero, which turns un-used concrete into re-usable aggregate on site, with zero impact, eliminating the need to re-direct waste to a specialist reclaiming unit.
The company has been producing low VOC emission products for more than 30 years and its systems are tested by the strictest institutions, to ensure that they meet certified standards.
Mapei is also a member of the UK Green Building Council.
