Rubber flooring has many features and benefits:

Dalhaus isanewnamein rubber flooring. The longstanding distributor of Dalsouple floor tiles has launched this new company to reflect a changed direction. Rubber is seen as a smart choice forallkindsofcommercial installations. It is described as tough enough for the heaviest footfall, colourful, tactile, warm and soft, and from silky smooth to textured, offering good slip-resistance and absorbing both impact and sound.

However, it is often dismissed as an expensive option. Now Dalhaus has set out to prove this doesn’t have to be so, offering quality rubber floor without the high price-tag. Yet there’s no compromise on design flexibility. Custom colours are offered for larger orders, while prompt delivery is available on bestselling lines held

in stock.

‘Dalsouple always offered exceptional design flexibility, but at a premium price and a long lead time which is now out of sync with today’s market,’ says Dalhaus md Tim Gaukroger. ‘In these leaner times, we are responding to customer demand for exceptional cost- effectiveness with a fast turnaround. We have sourced exciting new products to deliver this.’ www.dalhaus.co.uk

Jaymartsaysits Blade-runner rubber safety flooring was recently installed at the Lancashire County Cricket Club at Old Trafford, Manchester. Reportedly engineered to meet the exacting needs of the most extreme environments, Blade-runner is said to benefit from an extremely dense, elastic structure that makes it durable and able easily to withstand heavy equipment and high-impact shocks such as dropped weights, golf spikes or ice skate blades.

This same elasticity allows the product to absorb the impact of athletes’ bodies, increase comfort and reduce injuries. It is designed as an extra heavy-duty indoor/outdoor smooth surface rubber safety flooring available in roll size 10m long 1.25m wide x 10mm or 12mm thick or tile format 570mmx570mm. It comes in 11 classic and 25 custom colours. It is also said to provide high underfoot comfort and warmth, substantial sound absorbency, good colour fastness and ease of installation.

Blade-runner is manufactured using up to 100% recycled granulate or crumb rubber and can be recycled again! Suitable for use at gymnasia, swimming pools, changing rooms, car showrooms, warehouses, football clubs etc, it has been installed at Fitness First, Esporta, LA fitness gymnasia and David Lloyd Leisure Centres. www.jaymart.co.uk

M a p e i is highlighting its polyurethane adhesives Adesilex G19 and Adesilex G20, said to be suitable for installing running tracks. These adhesives are designed to bond to both the substrate and synthetic rubber covering. At the same time they are claimed to offer excellent resistance to tangential stresses transmitted to the underlying substrate during races and so help athletes to reach optimum performance levels.

These adhesives have reportedly been installed in numerous athletics tracks and in various Olympic Games venues, including Beijing’s 2008 National Stadium. They are also said to be suited for adhering rubber sports flooring into gymnasiums, schools, fitness centres and sports facilities.

Mapei also supplies the waterproofing and isolating membrane Mapelay, a PVC sheet reinforced with glass fibres. In gyms and schools where the existing substrate cannot be cleaned sufficiently, Mapelay can reportedly be applied above damp and problematic substrates such as asphalt and bitumen, and those that have been previously contaminated or penetrated with oils, solvents and old adhesive residues.
