New Brighton Flooring Show To Focus On Contract Flooring Market
THE Hilton Brighton Metropole is the venue for the new Spring Floorcoverings Exhibition (SFE) to be held from March 3–5, 2015.
It is decades since the last flooring show in Brighton. In 2015, however, contract is to be a major area of interest. Stewart Crofts, of Norcro Exhibitions which is organising the event, said: ‘From the enquiries we have received, it is clear that the commercial sector would welcome the return of the spring show in Brighton.
‘We are looking to contractors, facility managers and specifiers who are involved in the flooring sector to play a direct role in influencing the presentation of this show. Spend a couple of minutes sending us a list of manufacturers you would like to see exhibiting at Brighton.
Responses can be either via the show website or by email:
Prize draw: As an incentive to respond, there will be a free random prize draw and five people will each win a free night’s accommodation for two on Wednesday March 4, 2015, at the prestigious Hilton Brighton Metropole.
The strap line Norcro will use in all its advertising and promotional activities is: What The World Walks On Tomorrow.
‘Exhibitors will be invited to present their new designs and ranges for 2015.
‘Spring is the traditional time that the housing market picks up and consumers decide to redecorate or refurbish their homes,’ he explains.
‘It allows manufactures to get samples and stock of their new products to their customers by April. This gives retailers a new sales opportunity and something new to show the consumer.’
He also revealed that: ‘Following discussions with key industry players, we decided not to allow exhibitors to book very large stands, thus allowing everyone to have a more equal presence.
‘Way back in the seventies, the floorcoverings industry supported two shows, Brighton in the spring and Harrogate in the autumn.
‘Buyers and retailers have always liked the more intimate friendly atmosphere of these more manageable trade shows, rather than the NEC or London.
‘In fact, London and most parts of the home counties are within a reasonable driving distance from Brighton. By train, Brighton is only an hour from central London.
‘So it is easy for busy contractors, facility managers, interior designers and specifiers to visit in a day.’
He adds: ‘With an improving UK economy, unemployment falling and consumer confidence returning, we believe that the timing of Brighton is right!’
