Solid Oak Planks Laid On A Concrete Floor
- Client: Private Residence North London.
- Brief: To install Solid Rustic Oiled Oak Plank 187mm wide 20mm thick with a micro bevelled edge to a concrete floor that had previously experienced moisture problems. The skirtings were not to be removed.
- Completion: Firstly a liquid epoxide moisture suppressant damp proof membrane was applied to the concrete floor. Then the wood was stuck directly to the floor using a flexible adhesive allowing the wood to expand & contract normally. Finally a plain beading, which will be painted with the skirting, was installed at the perimeter to cover the expansion gap.
