Building For Growth

The Flooring Group is delighted to announce our partnership with Building For Growth.

Shared Intelligence, along with MTW Consultants, have been appointed by the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) and the Greater London Authority (GLA) to carry out a new business support programme – dubbed ‘Building for Growth – for 280 small and medium sized construction companies located in Central and West London.

The programme aims to support businesses by:

  • Helping them to access more work opportunities in their area
  • Introducing them to large construction contractors
  • Improving their chances of winning public sector tenders
  • Improving business processes and productivity
  • Helping them to manage and achieve sustainable growth

The Building for Growth programme involves a number of themed workshops designed to help companies win new business. Topics include: tender writing, prequalification stages, how to pitch your service, marketing, and key tendering pre-requisites such as environmental and health & safety policies.

Businesses with significant growth potential will also be supported through one-to-one sessions to help with business strategies, and implementing policies and accreditation. The whole programme will be accessible online through a bespoke e-learning programme. All of this support is completely free to participating SMEs.

The programme is being promoted through two launch events at high profile London developments to provide an introduction to the programme and an opportunity to meet the team. The first event will be on the 26th February at Television Centre, White City and will be attended by several large contractors including Mace, Stanhope, Westfield and Mitie, giving SMEs a great chance to meet first tier contractors and learn about upcoming procurement opportunities.

A second launch event is planned for late March and this and all our subsequent workshops will be attended by major buyers, to help SMEs network and form new supplier relationships so they can win new business.

The Building for Growth programme builds on Shared Intelligence’s previous successful work with MTW Consultants on Supply Cross River 2, a programme of supply chain development for the Cross River Partnership which has focussed on engaging with buyers looking to procure services from local companies.
