Atkinson & Kirby has introduced the new Kronoswiss laminate flooring range. Kronoswiss is one of the world’s leading producers of quality laminate flooring and regularly features the latest designs and technological advancements.
The range comprises 16 decors all available ex-stock ranging from 7mm–12mm; it includes benefits such as 5G installation, domestic and commercial wear warranties, latest registered and embossed surface textures all supported with full FSC and PEFC certification.
A&K prides itself on bringing quality products to its customers and this range is no exception. It will be supported by a brochure and POS packing including display stands.
Boen has launched a new brand concept ‘style advisor’ to accompany vendors and customers through the process of purchasing the company’s flooring.
It is based on the customer desire to purchase not simply flooring, but to design their own four walls in their own individual style, full of personality and functionality.
Four distinctive styles are at the centre of the new concept developed jointly with the interior-design adviser and style expert Helle Tjaberg (Norway).
All features clear historic references and set future trends: Pure Nordic, Modern Rustic, Urban Contrast and Classic Elegance.
The ‘style advisor’ is designed to make the sales process simpler and more attractive while offering decisive value added for retail partners and customers:
More security in quickly and easily finding flooring suited to one’s individual style;
More inspiration through a creative confrontation with style collections and personal design desires;
More clarity with the guidance of the customers through the selection process in four easy steps.
The process will include a catalogue and style handbook.
The catalogue Be Inspired provides an orientation point and serves as a source of inspiration: it was created to enthuse, inspire and comprehensively present the wide variety of Boen quality parquet flooring.
The four style collections are described in detail with attractive photos, accessories, exciting examples and design tips – and perfectly complementary floors are presented for each style.
The style handbook features detailed background information about the style collections.
The customers can use it to inform themselves comprehensively about the creation and history of the respective styles, learn more about the features – such as current colours and materials – and become acquainted with the renowned designer and style blogs.
The new advisory system is presented in a practical guide structured in four steps.
The first step is the selection of the style, followed by the selection of the colour, and then the determination of the size. The fourth and final step is the selection of the surface.
The price list has also been clearly revised and structured around the new concept.
The new style collection concept is also featured online.

Junckers reports a steadily growing demand for Nordic Oak over the past 12 months, nearly eclipsing oak, which has long been the most popular timber used for flooring in the UK.
Junckers states that its Nordic treatment adds interest to the colouration and graining of the Oak and dons a contemporary twist to our trusted old favourite, in keeping with latest interior design trends.
The company reports more and more Nordic Oak being specified, from art galleries to public libraries and even gyms. The aim is to achieve a pale finish which reflects a lot of natural light.
Subtly treated with a white-pigmented stain and sealed with Junckers Ultra Matt Lacquer, Nordic Oak is described as a beautiful and hard-wearing product that comes pre-finished and is suitable for use with underfloor heating in common with the company’s solid hardwood floors which are said to be are naturally stable and have a low moisture content.
Junckers is committed to sustainable forestry and the company is both FSC and PEFC certified.
Kährs has introduced two new text printed floor ranges to its established Da Capo Collection.
The new designs feature ‘tea and coffee’ and ‘wine’ text stamps, which are screen-printed onto rustic wood floors to create a stylish, vintage look.
All designs are said to be suitable for domestic and heavy traffic commercial applications, and can also be installed onto walls. Personalised, bespoke screen prints – in infinite designs and on all Kährs’ nature oiled floors – also available on request.
The wine-themed Domo Da Capo floors feature champagne and fine wine branded text, including Grande Couvee and Medoc; whilst tea and coffee Decorum Da Capo designs have different blends, like Pure Ceylon and Darjeeling.
Permanent inkjet text is printed directly onto the nature oil finished boards and then UV-cured for longevity.
The new Kährs Da Capo floors feature a one-strip design and have an antiqued surface finish that is brushed, handscraped, bevelled and smoked to reinforce the vintage look.
All floors are crafted from sustainable oak and have a multi-layered construction said to be suitable for installation over underfloor heating.
Kährs glueless Woodloc joint is described as promoting a fast, accurate installation over a variety of substrates and floors can also be bonded, if required.

Küberit manufacturers a range of high quality trims and flooring profiles, which are designed for both contract and residential locations.
Based in Lüdenscheid, Germany, Küberit continually develops new products for a variety of requirements.
For example, the company supplies the PPS Champion Star, described as the narrowest aluminium profile system in the world.
This internationally patented system consists of three different profile types. It includes the pre-assembled PPS-crosses and PPS-corners which allow shorter installation times.
Both of these can be installed in combination with their profile systems and floating floors such as engineered parquet, laminate or LVT floorings.
Due to the pre-assembled corners and crosses, time-consuming cuts for mitres on-site are not necessary, allowing for installations of the profiles that are more accurate while serving as a time-saving solution for professional flooring installers.
The PPS-crosses are also said make it possible to install the flooring in modular dimensions and to keep the expansion gaps that are necessary in large floor areas.
For three of the screwable PPS profile systems, Küberit offers pre-assembled installation solutions, for example a cross and a 90degree interior and exterior corner.
Küberit has also developed silicone joints in two new colours and two new profile types in stainless steel.
The aluminium expansion profiles type 301 S, 302 S and 307 S for 3, 4.5 and 6mm thick floorings are available with silicone joints in sand and bronze anodized.
Expansion joints type 303 S and 304 S in stainless steel are also new. The profiles can be used for floorings of 6 or 10.3mm and are available with the standard silicone joints grey and black.
New silicone joint colours beige and brown are available for expansion joint profiles 301 S, 302 S and 307 S.
The profiles are supplied in sand and bronze, while expansion joint profiles 303 S and 304 S are now in polished stainless steel.
Also offered by the company are Swarovski Elements profiles and skirting designed for commercial and residential areas, enabling the creation of unusual room designs with ‘sparkling’ and striking decorative items.
Sparkling Swarovski Elements are used to decorate the Küberit heating tube (in diameters of 12, 15, 18 and 22mm). Door stoppers made of brass are available in polished, nickel-brilliant and nickel-mat.
Mapei has developed Mapesilent Slatted, a soundproofing system for solid and engineered tongue-and-groove wood floors.
The system combines a slatted soundproofing mat and a thixotropic elastic adhesive.
It is designed for fast, easy installation onto concrete, smoothing compounds, prepared anhydrite based screeds and existing tiles.
It can reportedly also be used on screeds which contain an underfloor heating system. And it is said to be suitable for both residential and commercial application, in new build construction and renovation.
Combining the advantages of both floating and fully bonded wood floor installations, Mapesilent Slatted is claimed to reduce impact sound by 19dB at 3mm thickness and 22dB at 5mm, which exceeds Building Regulation requirements.
It is also designed to provide low adhesive consumption, offering insulation between the subfloor and floorcovering, and helps eliminate small substrate imperfections.
During installation, the slats between the high quality polyethylene foam are filled fully with solvent-free Mapei Ultrabond S997 1K or Ultrabond P990 1K adhesive.
Wood flooring should then be installed, with sufficient pressure being applied to achieve full contact with the soundproofing system.
The installed tongue and groove board should provide a minimum overall thickness of 12mm but should not exceed 28mm in thickness, says Mapei.
Mapesilent Slatted is available in a 25sq m roll (3mm thickness) and a 20sq m roll (5mm thickness); both formats are 1.5m wide.
Full installation instructions are included on all packaging.

The products are based on rapidly renewable, natural vegetable oils that penetrate deeply into the wood, keeping it elastic and healthy, whilst preventing it from drying and becoming brittle.
As the range is not produced for the mass market, more time can be spent on ensuring all the products are of the highest quality.
Pallmann products were used to renovate 170sq m of wooden parquet in the Salon de Viennoise at the Grand Hotel du Lac. Situated on the shores of Lake Geneva, the 5 star hotel was built in 1868.
Pallmann also offers training courses in the UK for people who want to create and maintain stunning wooden floors.
The company’s experts will walk you through the five steps for the installation, renovation and maintenance of wood floors.

The company claims its wood floor installation systems are fail safe when used correctly. That’s why it offers a two years warranty for everyone attending each of its five steps training courses.
