Supply Cross River Support
The Flooring Group is delighted to be announce that it will continue its partnership with Supply Cross River.
Supply Cross River 2 (SXR2) – Developing supply chains in central London is an initiative developed by Cross River Partnership, which builds on the success of Supply Cross River 1 (2008-2011). It aims at opening up supply chain and procurement opportunities to small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) in central London, and promoting supplier diversity and sustainable procurement to buyers, further stimulating local economic growth.
The project has been set up to ensure that local SMEs across all sectors are in a position to fully exploit, and benefit from, the vast array of business opportunities that exist in central London, in particular opportunities arising from large regeneration developments such as Nine Elms, Earl’s Court, the Shell Centre development, King’s Cross, London Bridge Station remodeling, Victoria redevelopment and Crossrail.
Through a combination of business support activities, SXR2 will help local SMEs increase their tendering compliance, improve their competitiveness through skills development and become procurement ready and fit to win.
The benefits of local and sustainable procurement will be highlighted to major buyers and the project will broker links between suppliers and buyers through identification of pipeline contracts and ‘matching’ activities.
SXR2 will partly focus on sourcing low carbon opportunities, developing sustainable supply chains and creating green jobs across all sectors. The project will also work closely with the creative industries.
SXR2 started in January 2013 and will run until March 2015. It has a budget of £1.4m and is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) through the London’s ERDF Programme. The remaining funds come from the five delivery partners.
